Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to our new school website where you will get a feel for the welcoming atmosphere and learning environment that is our school. Park National School’s motto ‘Great Oaks from Little Acorns Grow’ conveys a lot about what our school is all about. At Park National School, we are committed to providing our pupils with a well-rounded education rooted in meaningful learning activities in our rural environment and with the valued involvement of our community. Our commitment is to support pupils of all ages in their holistic development, encouraging their academic, social, spiritual and artistic selves to be the best they can be.
Our school, with the expertise of our passionate staff, offers attention and focus on a pupil’s individual needs. Our small class sizes and learning support resourcing are used for small group and individual support. This ensures pupils from all backgrounds and abilities learn in engaging ways. We meet every child where they are and work closely with parents and others to support a child to meet their potential and become active citizens and leaders in their learning.
It is my role as principal to ensure every child receives the care and focus they deserve with pupil’s wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do in Park National School.
Our school benefits from the active involvement of parents. Strong relationships with home ensure we work together for the best outcomes for pupils both in their learning and wellbeing.
The children are always at the centre of focus in our school. We place an emphasis on outdoor and active learning through many different projects involving gardening, art, physical education as well science and technology. We engage outside expertise in delivering stimulating new learning opportunities such as artists, musicians, scientists and others. Pupils have much autonomy at recreational times to choose activities including sport, gardening and outdoor games. Their leadership skills are further developed through involvement in school committees and carefully planned group work.
Park National School has much opportunity for sport with plenty of green space and a variety of physical activities during lessons and play. Inclusion of all abilities is promoted by our caring staff with fun and participation as priorities, as well as the further development of important life skills. Pupils participate in many team sports including GAA, soccer and rugby but also in areas such as dance, gymnastics and tennis.

It has been and continues to be my utmost privilege to work with the pupils in Park National school alongside our dedicated and experienced educators and support staff.
